Shiny Things

So one thing I have learned since moving to sunny SoCal is that my London winter wardrobe is pretty much useless except for just a fraction of the year and even then, only really in the evenings.  Once in a while on a particularly chilly night I may get to bring out a chunky knit and wait for it…a scarf (!) but for the rest of the year my gorgeous long coats and chunky wool knits sit in the guest bedroom wardrobe collecting dust.

As a result I have found other ways to dress for my favorite and most festive time of the year….METALLICS *insert sparkle emoji here*!

This simple but perfectly shiny and festive little outfit combines 2 of my favorite European brands that some people stateside may still be unfamiliar with, MSGM and & Other Stories.

MSGM is a Milanese brand with playful prints, bold graphics and strong silhouettes, you must take a peek at their logo sweatshirts this season. I love this black tee with the gold metal print…it’s great for transitioning from daytime to evening.

Now this & Other Stories skirt is pure holographic heaven!  I was so excited to see the West Coast’s first store open in South Coast Plaza, Orange County in September, I remember the same excitement as word spread about its opening in London. The manager told me that they take in new deliveries 3 times a week so there’s always something new and fresh to tempt you plus their accessories and all natural skin care range make great stocking fillers….a little piece of Sweden has arrived in Cali.
